FELIPE PANTONE: AT THE CROSSROADS OF COLOR AND TECHNOLOGY

Felipe Pantone is an Argentinian-Spanish artist whose artistic journey began very early, at the age of 12, when he was introduced to graffiti. After graduating from the School of Fine Arts in Valencia, Spain, where he is now based, Pantone has developed a unique style that explores contemporary themes such as dynamism, transformation, and the digital revolution.

His work evokes an encounter between the analog past and a digital future, where the interaction between humans and machines generates visual distortions. Pantone is particularly interested in the impact of light on color and how technology alters our perception of these elements. As he himself says: Color exists only because of light, and light is the origin of all life. "According to him, our vision of light and colors has radically changed with the advent of screens and modern lighting."

Pantone draws inspiration from the work of kinetic artists such as Victor Vasarely and Carlos Cruz-Diez, who played with movement in their creations. In his contemporary works, he manages to produce vibrational effects depending on the viewer's position relative to his pieces. Using digital software to design his works, he then translates his creations into murals, paintings, or sculptures, giving materiality to phenomena originating in the digital world.

Whether in museums and galleries around the world, transforming a classic car into a futuristic artwork, or painting the largest mural in Portugal, Pantone explores the intersection of art and technology. For him, the "overstimulation" of the digital age becomes a source of creativity. In his latest exhibition at the Underdogs Gallery in Lisbon, he delves into this world where screens dominate our daily lives. Through vibrant plays of color, light, and geometry, he gives a new aesthetic meaning to "glitches"—those digital errors that have become an integral part of our visual culture.

His art invites the viewer to participate, particularly through his paintings, sculptures, and installations. The exhibition "Perceptual Phenomena, Color Spaces, Structural Honesty" explores the human relationship with light and color in a constantly changing world. Inspired by his beginnings in urban art, Pantone invites visitors to immerse themselves in his visual illusions and reflect on the transformations brought about by technology. For the artist, everything is interconnected, and he reminds us not to neglect these invisible links that unite things and beings: Every action has a reaction, and everything depends on something else. Improve things, don't destroy them. »
