Of Korean origin, Myonghi Kang is one of those artists whose painting transcends mere artistic creation. With the exhibition "Requiem," we share in her relentless quest for truth, light, and harmony.

CHÂTEAU LA COSTE, AN ART CENTER BETWEEN VINEYARDS AND GASTRONOMY
Ideally located between Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon National Park, Château La Coste is a vineyard where wine, art, and architecture coexist in harmony. Since its opening in 2011, this exceptional place, which blends centuries-old winemaking tradition, prestigious hospitality, and gourmet cuisine, invites visitors to discover more than 40 major contemporary artworks installed outdoors and in 5 galleries spread across 200 hectares of natural landscape. Nestled in this uniquely beautiful Provençal setting, Château La Coste hosts exhibitions alongside its cypress, umbrella pine, olive, and centuries-old oak trees. This creates a subtle link between art and the natural environment, a perfect fit for the work of Myonghi Kang!

MYONGHI KANG, CELEBRATING LIFE, ART AND THE UNTAMED SPIRIT OF NATURE
A graduate of the Seoul National University of Fine Arts, Myonghi Kang has made the dialogue between her native South Korea and her adopted France the guiding principle of her cosmic and vibrant paintings. Having fallen in love with the light and landscapes immortalized by Paul Cézanne, this artist has allowed her artistic explorations to take her to the ends of the earth. From the vast Gobi Desert to the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia, by way of Provence, her pictorial universe is imbued with a pure and boundless sensibility. From this fusion of cultures have emerged canvases that explore a myriad of colors, marks, and forms—like the representation of a world that oscillates between emptiness and abundance.

REQUIEM, OR THE COMMEMORATION OF A WORLD IN DECLINE
And what better setting to celebrate Myonghi Kang's return to the art scene than the pavilion designed by Renzo Piano? Bathed in radiant natural light, this gallery provides a dazzling backdrop to the artist's 12 paintings and 18 watercolors. Tracing Myonghi Kang's extraordinary journey from figurative art to poetic abstraction, each work is a meditation on the universe. Aware of the threats facing both humanity and the natural world, the artist highlights her concerns about the destructive forces of modernity. Her painting thus becomes an act of resistance, a sanctuary of beauty and vitality. A beautiful way to invite us to rediscover the sacred relationship that binds humankind to nature!
