THE FIRST SOLO SHOW BY ARTIST ANDRÉS BARÓN AT THE DS GALLERY
In 2016, while working as an architect, Thomas Havet He had the idea of founding Double Séjour, an art gallery set up in his apartment. This initiative subsequently led him to organize numerous traveling exhibitions, then to obtain a year-long residency at POUSH. This artistic journey reached its peak with the creation of the DS Gallery last March, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris.
With the ambition of promoting emerging artists in France and internationally, the architect-curator constantly strives to elevate the five artists represented by his gallery. "Grammars," the first solo exhibition by video artist and photographer Andrés Barón, seems to be a tangible testament to this dedication.

The Colombian artist conceived this exhibition as an island. A collection of color and black-and-white photographs taken within the cultural space itself hangs on the white walls. At the center, two televisions screen the films Grammars (2021) – created in collaboration with the musician Dreamcrusher – and Fresco (2022). Cables take over the space, like untamed roots feeding off one another. Through each of his works, the artist allows objects to speak in a strident, even brutal, way. For the Paris Photo fair, Barón is also presenting the exhibition "Unfolded Surfaces," which retraces his artistic work from 2018 to 2023. Following the same guiding thread as that revealed at the DS Galerie, the young artist questions our perception of the image, whether still or moving.
