JAEGER-LECOULTRE
In September, Jaeger-LeCoultre returns to the Homo Faber Biennale in Venice. The event, dedicated to artisanal expertise and celebrating craftsmanship in all its forms, has adopted an approach that aligns with Jaeger-LeCoultre's commitment to preserving watchmaking and related artistic crafts. To celebrate the City of the Doges, the brand presents three new limited editions of the Reverso Tribute Enamel, each adorned on the reverse with a miniature reproduction of a Venetian painting by Claude Monet. The Reverso thus proves to be a perfect canvas for artistic creation. Monet's Venice series, painted at the end of his life, perfectly captures the light and architecture of the city that captivated the artist during his stay in 1908. Initially hesitant to depict a city he found "too beautiful to be painted," Monet ultimately created 37 canvases over ten weeks, playing with the ever-changing light of the location.
With the Reverso Tribute Enamel “Venice Series” collection, the brand showcases the rare skills of its artisans, such as miniature painting, enameling, and guilloché engraving. Creating these works on the Reverso's small dial represents a technical feat, as the enameller must faithfully reproduce the texture and atmosphere of Monet's paintings on a surface measuring just 25 x 20 millimeters.
