MONCLER CELEBRATES AN UNPRECEDENTED CREATIVE FUSION IN SHANGHAI

On October 19th, Moncler unveiled a spectacular event during Shanghai Fashion Week: "The City of Genius".

This audacious project transformed the CSSC Pavilion, a historic 30,000-square-meter shipyard, into a true celebration of global creativity. The performance, which attracted 8,000 guests and over 57 million online viewers, brought together renowned creators from the fields of fashion, music, art, and technology. The goal was to awaken creative genius, given that, according to a study, 98% of five-year-olds demonstrate creativity, compared to only 2% of adults.

Moncler organized ten "designer quarters" where guests, including A$AP Rocky, Edward Enninful, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Jil Sander, and Willow Smith, each presented their unique vision. The standout installation by Chinese artist Xu Bing, which blended traditional art and language, made a lasting impression, illustrating the theme of co-creation. Designers drew inspiration from their personal influences to reinvent the iconic Moncler down jacket, creating innovative and bold collections.

The event was also punctuated by memorable live performances, such as Henry Lau's, accompanied by dancers and a sound and light show, and Chen Lijun's modern interpretation of Chinese opera, fusing tradition and pop. The evening was a true immersion into a world where art, fashion, and innovation intertwined, demonstrating that Shanghai is now an essential center of creativity.

“The City of Genius” thus illustrated Moncler’s desire to push the boundaries of luxury and fashion, celebrating creative diversity on a global scale while honoring Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage. The event marked a turning point in the brand’s history, reaffirming its role as a catalyst for contemporary creativity.
