Myah Hasbany, the new fashion prodigy

The new generation of designers has been joined by a free-spirited creator whose designs seem straight out of a science fiction film: Myah Hasbany, a Central Saint Martins graduate. In June 2025, during the university's fashion show, the fashion world discovered a new way to theorize and conceptualize clothing. Since then, the young designer has been building her own universe, one that is both subtle and bold. Myah Hasbany works with suggestive proportions, intense colors, and unique silhouettes. Audacity is an integral part of her mindset: she has no interest in the conventionally wearable; she wants to create, imagine, and convey ideas.

Awarded the L'Oréal Professionnel Young Talent Award in 2025, she continues to prove herself and is gradually becoming a pop culture icon. Just as her silhouettes are anything but ordinary, her relationship to her creations is complex. The designer refuses to consider clothing solely as a basic necessity, shunning aesthetic ideals and trends. The message isn't obvious, but it's proudly conveyed by each piece. Growing up with a need to work for a cause, she has found a way to express her ideas and challenge contemporary narratives.

Free in her expression, she instantly imbued her collection with an enchanting quality. By taking risks, she doesn't always realize the need to generate interest in her creations. Her creative process is experimental because, by daring to disrupt, she allows herself to push boundaries both in terms of space and the design of her pieces. Indeed, she uses unconventional techniques such as crochet, which she employs extensively to create striking optical effects.

Myah Hasbany explores concepts of dysmorphia and gender, giving her work a strongly satirical edge. Her latest collection, inspired by a UFO crash, embodies the principle of marginality. It offers us a glimpse into her perception of beauty, which clashes with societal norms of aesthetics. It took her nearly a year to create her largest piece, a crocheted and feathered creation depicting an impressive, tentacled being flying through the air.

This year, Myah Hasbany joins Dior after reinterpreting the iconic jacket Bar from the designer, available in two colors and worn by a pair of twin sisters.

Myah Hasbany is a distinguished designer who has made her critical thinking and creativity the very essence of her work, tackling the taboo subjects of a society tainted by its morals. As the luxury sector challenges artistic directors expected to adapt to the established codes of the brands and the demands of the market, could Myah Hasbany be a new hope, bringing creativity, commitment, and reflection to a world driven by desire and accessibility?
