THE 39TH HYÈRES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The 39th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories took place from October 10 to 13, 2024, at the Villa Noailles in Hyères. Created in 1986 by Jean-Pierre Blanc, this essential event supports emerging talents in fashion and, since 1997, in photography. In 2016, an accessories section was added to the program. Recognized as the oldest competition dedicated to young fashion professionals, the festival annually honors the most promising designers in their respective disciplines.

The festival is structured around three major competitions: fashion, photography, and accessories. Each category awards several prestigious prizes, such as the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize for fashion, the 7L Grand Jury Prize for photography, and the Grand Jury Prize for accessories. These awards come with financial support and professional opportunities offered by renowned partners such as Chanel, Hermès, and Mercedes-Benz.

Beyond the awards, the festival offers winners two years of support, giving them access to a variety of resources: funding, production, technical and artistic expertise, exhibition opportunities, and residencies. This comprehensive support allows creators to develop their projects in a professional environment conducive to their growth.
For this latest edition, the juries were chaired by influential figures in their respective fields: Nicolas Di Felice, artistic director of Courrèges, for the fashion section; Coco Capitán, photographer and artist, for the photography section; and Achilles Ion Gabriel, renowned designer and artistic director of Camper, for the accessories section. Their experience and keen eye brought unique expertise to the evaluation of the submitted works.
For several years, the festival has benefited from the support of major brands such as Chanel, Hermès, LVMH, American Vintage, Mercedes-Benz, and many others. Through their contributions and collaborations, these partners offer creators unique visibility and professional opportunities. Le19M, a venue dedicated to the arts and crafts and exceptional skills, is also a key partner, strengthening the link between innovation and artisanal tradition.

The creations of the finalists in the fashion, photography and accessories categories are on display at the Villa Noailles until January 12, 2025. These exhibitions provide an exceptional showcase for the works of the participants and allow the public to discover new creative perspectives in a prestigious setting.
In addition to being a springboard for young talent, the Hyères Festival positions itself as a place for meetings and exchanges between creators, professionals and amateurs, celebrating innovation while promoting artisanal know-how.

This year again, the Villa Noailles recognized numerous emerging talents. The Première Vision Grand Jury Prize was awarded to Dolev Elron of Israel for his menswear collection, "Casual Turbulence," produced with the support of several prestigious workshops, including le19M and Maison Lesage. The le19M Craftsmanship Prize was awarded to Romain Bichot of Belgium for his unisex collection, "Call Me If You Get Lost." Logan Monroe Goff of the United States won the Mercedes-Benz Eco-Responsible Collection Prize. In photography, the 7L Grand Jury Prize was awarded to Arhant Shrestha of Nepal for his series, "Between Space and Memory." In the accessories category, the Grand Jury Prize was won by Chiyang Duan of China for his collection of glasses and bags, "Distorted Objects." Finally, the City of Hyères Public Prize was awarded to Gaëlle Lang Halloo of France for her menswear collection, "Abseits." This list of winners highlights the festival's commitment to promoting creators from diverse countries in a sustainable and innovative approach.
