The Treehotel, nestled in Swedish Lapland, is known for its treehouse cabins, each with its own distinct character and unique way of interacting with the forest. Through a close collaboration between the Treehotel and Swedish ornithologist Ulf Öhman, the eighth room designed by BIG will be covered with 350 nesting boxes. This new unit, suspended among the pine trees and named Biosphere, has one goal: to combat the dramatic decline in bird populations in Swedish forests by strengthening the biosphere and natural habitat. Accessible via a suspension bridge, the 34-square-meter room is adorned with organic materials inspired by the surrounding landscape, drawing guests' gaze outward and inviting them to focus on the beauty of their environment.
