THE XINGÚ HOUSE IN THE HEART OF THE BRAZILIAN JUNGLE

The architecture studio Tetro, founded by Carlos Maia, Débora Mendes, and Igor Macedo, continues to explore new design approaches in harmony with local ecosystems. The Xingú House, located in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, Brazil, is currently under construction.

Its distinctive feature lies in its unique form, resting on thick concrete pillars. It blends seamlessly into the native forest, poetically blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. The concept is divided into three sections. The first, raised approximately 6 meters above the ground, contains two suites offering panoramic mountain views.

The other two structures rest on a platform formed by the stone walls of an old building, housing guest rooms, an office, a kitchen, and a social area, with direct access to the upper level. One side of the structure intentionally blends into the dense vegetation where the spa is located, designed as a self-contained volume. This spa also includes a sauna, changing rooms, a relaxation area, and a gym.

Within these organic elements are also the bathrooms and circulation spaces (stairs, elevator). The ground floor completes the success of the Xingú House, dedicated to the leisure area which provides access to a cave transformed into a wine cellar, as well as to the swimming pool and outdoor spaces for relaxing in the sun.
