Art Villa

TROPICAL HOSPITALITY

This magnificent structure is part of a concept comprising three different villas and a multifunctional tropical pavilion in the heart of the Costa Rican jungle, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Guided tour.

When an investor wants to create a place where "visitors merge with the surrounding nature, clear their minds and experience both luxury and adventure", the result is the "Art Villas" resort. Pure change of scenery for a jungle retreat near the town of Uvita in southern Costa Rica, nestled on a hill overlooking Hermosa Beach. The hotel complex is the work of three architectural firms, who created three accommodations scattered over a little more than two hectares: Refuel works (Art Villa), Archwerk (The Coco and a shared pavilion) and Formafatal (The Atelier), the latter also conceiving the interior design and final form of the overall concept. Not to mention the vision of landscape designer Atelier Flera. The project of particular interest to us is Art Villa, the first structure to have been erected.

Soothing splendor

This 570 m² concrete monolith, built on two levels, includes open-plan communal areas (hall, living room, kitchen with dining room, covered terrace bordered by the pool) as well as five bedrooms with private bathrooms, a children's playroom and a gym and dance area. Czech architecture firms Refuel works and Formafatal set the style right from the entrance, emphasizing the generosity of the space and creating a zen-like feel where concrete, steel, teak and linen create a raw yet luxurious environment. Most of the pieces were made by local and Czech craftsmen, with furniture designed to order. The team drew inspiration not only from the surrounding wild jungle, but also from the work of Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha. As a result, Art Villa exudes an organic, wild and lush beauty that brings the colors of Central America to life.
