Block722 takes us to the magnificent Cretan landscape for its new residential design, located on the northern foothills of Mount Thrypti, in the eastern part of the Greek island.

As is typical of the studio, this modern, discreet, and environmentally conscious 280-square-meter house is once again divided into distinct volumes, interconnected by pathways and intermediate spaces. The natural setting of O Lofos thus beautifully combines views of the mountain peaks, the plains, and the Mediterranean Sea. The entrance is via a path descending a slope from the main road. The architecture then divides into two low buildings, linked by a semi-enclosed space, in a fusion of natural materials.

Block722 blends a contemporary atmosphere with Scandinavian sensibility and organic minimalism, incorporating Japanese architectural influences. Marble, wood, stone, and terrazzo comprise the studio's custom-designed Anata furniture collection. Art also makes an appearance with a wall sculpture by Greek artist Pantelis Chandris in the living room. Through clean lines, forms, design, and craftsmanship, the interiors embrace the diverse landscapes, playing with the light of the Greek sun to enhance the island's slow-paced lifestyle.
