South Korean artist Dain Yoon lives and works in New York. Born and raised in Seoul, she attended Yewon School and then Seoul Arts High School, thanks to her early talent for painting. In 2017, she graduated from the Korea National University of Arts, where she specialized in set design.

A classically trained painter, Dain became known for her illusionistic paintings on her face and body, as well as for her eclectic work in various media: painting on canvas, sculpture, photography, and performance. She chose to paint on her face because, according to her, it is the strongest and most sensitive part of the body; these qualities allow her to convey subtle emotions on a "canvas" that is uniquely her own, highlighting her individuality and the deeply personal nature of her work.
Her style, at the crossroads of surrealism and conceptual art, explores notions of identity and self-perception: her self-portraits filter and fuse emotions and sensations using a variety of techniques, inherited from thousands of hours of learning and practice.
In 2020, Dain obtained an EB-1A green card and moved to the United States. She has collaborated with artists such as Maurizio Cattelan, James Blake, and Halsey, and established partnerships with Tate Modern and the Van Gogh Museum. Her growing reputation has earned her significant media attention (The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Vogue, Dazed, TOILETPAPER, The New York Times Magazine) as well as projects with prestigious brands: Apple, adidas Originals, Instagram, Mercedes-Benz, Netflix and Pfizer.
More recently, she has broadened her artistic horizons by undertaking large-scale projects in fashion and technology, exploring mediums that go far beyond her paintbrush.
