Art Basel Miami is a pioneering fair and the best event for contemporary art lovers and enthusiasts.
Art Basel is a major contemporary art fair that promotes the values of this art form in different cities. The end of 2025 will remain unforgettable for Miami Beach, which is hosting this fair throughout the city. Galleries promote emerging artists known as "Nova" alongside established artists who left their mark on the 20th century, known as "Survey." The "Meridians" are artists who showcase large-scale projects, while the "Positions" are ambitious young galleries. Art Basel Miami is at the heart of evolution and transgression, presenting for the first time the Art Basel Award and the Zero 10 space dedicated to digital art.
Artists you absolutely must know
Cecilia Vicuña

The first artist to discover is a woman, Cecilia Vicuna. Represented by Lehmann Maupin Gallery, the Chilean artist tackles pressing global issues through poetic pictorial art and installations rich in media and materials. The delicacy and fragility of her works echo the violent challenges facing society: ecological destruction, human rights violations, and cultural homogenization.
Olafur Eliasson

The second artist is Olafur Eliasson, represented by the Tanya Bonakdar Gallery. The paintbrush is not his tool of choice; Olafur masters glass with delicacy and precision. With his work "Successful Coexistence Beyond Earth," he appreciates the interplay between light and the reflections of glass, which change depending on the viewer's position.
Adriel Visoto

Adriel Visoto explores intimacy and everyday life through a narrow prism: the domestic setting. The paintings evoke, in a way, a moment of confession in which individuals, often men, are touched by loneliness.
Ana Navas

The second female artist is Ana Navas. She explores the art of collage using a unique material: glass. Her series "Amulet" is visually vibrant and abstract. The artist draws inspiration from the visual languages of Wassily Kandinsky and Georgia O'Keeffe to create enigmatic yet pleasing works through color, texture, reflections, and form.
Debra Cartwright

Debra Cartwright creates works that are driven by a strong and important commitment. She paints the relationship between the black female body and America's medical history. Criticizing the established system, she poeticizes her works through her oil and watercolor painting techniques. Her works feature violence, non-explicit symbols, color, and above all, life.
Cisco Merel

The last artist, Cisco Merel, enchants viewers with his abstract and geometric works. Using architectural symbols, Cisco Merel brings an enthusiastic tone to his artistic process. He traces the origins of the constructive and sociocultural systems of our time through the textures of his works and his techniques. Photography, painting, and sculpture are all part of his artistic language. He transforms everyday life into something exceptional.
The Zero 10 space
Space Zero 10 is dedicated to new technologies. How are these technologies redefining artistic practices? With the help of algorithms and AI, new ideas and representations are being discovered by a new audience. The digital ecosystem often breaks with the principles of contemporary art, yet Art Basel Miami has decided to make it an event in its own right. The fair welcomes 12 exhibitors, including artists, digital platforms, and galleries that have contributed to bringing value to digital art. The most interesting aspect remains to be seen: how artists are appropriating technologies in different ways.
Dmitri Cherniak

Dmitri Cherniak, represented by the AOTM gallery, presents an installation of algorithmic works. His series "Ringers" (2021) and "Polygone Etcetera" (2025) vibrate with abstract colors and shapes. The artist automates his creative process using blockchain-based algorithms. Dmitri's works allow us to reconsider the principle of beauty through a digital prism.
Ix Shells

The exhibition "No me Olvides" (Don't forget me) by Ix Shells, presented by the Fellowship Gallery, is one of the works inaugurating Space Zero 10. Co-organized by Juan Canela, Alejandro Cartagena, and Emilie Boe Bierlich, this work uses fragments of stories from archives in Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America in algorithmic compositions. The algorithm creates a choreography of points and lines of light that bridge the past and the present. Composed of four algorithmic movements, the light and shapes change as the coding changes. The exhibition is an initiative to observe beauty through something that cannot be predicted.
Tyler Hobbs

Tyler Hobbs of Solos Gallery unveils a work called "from noise." He approaches digital art through experimentation and intuitive gestures. He wants to confront humans with machines and determine what is lost or gained. Using natural gestures, coding reconstructs a work marked by imperfection, impulsiveness, and freedom. Each work is unique, like the unique gestures and thoughts of an artist during the creative process. It feels as if the machine is endowed with a consciousness that drives it to compose a work instinctively.
Art Basel Awards
Art Basel Miami is hosting the first Art Basel Awards ceremony. To congratulate those who contribute to the future of art, the fair will distribute 11 trophies among the 36 medalists. The 11 Gold Award winners will be announced at the ceremony at the New World Center on December 4. The awards are divided into nine categories, with the aim of recognizing all the key players in the art world:
- Emerging artists
- Established artists
- Iconic artists
- Museum/institution
- Interdisciplinary creator
- Allies
- Boss
- Media and storytellers
- Conservative

To reward the winners, the architecture studio Herzog & de Meuron is collaborating with Matteo Conet, a Swiss craftsman, to create a precious trophy. The winners will be honored with an abstract glass sculpture. The glass bubble captures a different breath with each breath. The trophies are unique because they each symbolize a breath suspended in the air. "Each breath gives it a different shape, just as each thought we have is different," said Jacques Herzog, co-founder of the studio. The breath symbolizes hope and purity, concepts highlighted during the Art Basel fairs.
As we explore the works and approaches on display, one conviction becomes clear: Art Basel Miami celebrates the plurality of artistic voices more than ever before. Whether exploring the fragility of the world, the interplay of perception, human intimacy, cultural memory, or the potential of digital technology, these artists are constantly reinventing the way we see. Added to this is a clear desire to recognize those who are shaping the future of art, notably through the Art Basel Awards and the Zero 10 space, a place of experimentation dedicated to technological innovation. Together, these proposals sketch out a landscape where tradition and the avant-garde engage in dialogue, where creative energy is constantly renewed.
