On Friday January 24, 2025, I had the opportunity to attend the London Art Fair, held at Islington's Business Design Centre. This annual event brings together renowned galleries and emerging artists, offering a captivating overview of modern and contemporary art.

A Diversity of Galleries and Artists
With over 130 international galleries, the fair offered a wealth of styles and influences. Renowned institutions such as Osborne Samuel, Purdy Hicks Gallery and The Redfern Gallery rubbed shoulders with emerging galleries such as Annka Kultys Gallery, bringing a perspective that was both established and innovative.
The works presented were varied and stimulating. Tanya Baxter Contemporary exhibited striking pieces by David Hockney, while Purdy Hicks Gallery featured Susan Derges' striking photograms, exploring the relationship between man and nature. Jack Milroy's creations, with their intricate cut-outs, and those of Tracey Emin, were also present, offering an introspective and personal experience. Andy Warhol's iconic works, such as his vibrant portraits, were another major attraction.

Captivating sections
Masterpieces and Innovators
Gilden's Art Gallery presented lithographs and etchings by Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso, testifying to their timeless impact. In contrast, galleries such as Annka Kultys Gallery focused on digital art, reflecting new directions in the contemporary art landscape.

A Sober but Rich Event
The fair also offered lectures and guided tours, providing in-depth perspectives on art market trends. Museum partner Sainsbury Centre presented iconic modern works, further enriching the experience.
A Varied Experience
London Art Fair 2025 brought together varied perspectives and stimulating dialogues, enabling visitors to explore artistic currents old and new. The works presented, whether historic or innovative, encapsulated the diversity and richness of the contemporary art scene.
