Coucoo Cabins

In the heart of the Haute-Saône region, Coucoo Cabanes has created a new kind of hotel. Here, the rooms take the form of cabins, nestled in the greenery on the shores of Lake Bonnal. Far from the hustle and bustle, tucked away among the trees, your little wooden house offers all the comforts of a hotel.

One hundred and fifty hectares. That's the size of the Cabanes des Grands Lacs site, conceived by Gaspard de Moustier, co-founder of Coucoo Cabanes, launched in 2009. Immersed in nature, there are only 29 cabins to ensure maximum tranquility. Four of them were designed by the architectural firm AW2. The goal? A concept where architecture and nature live in symbiosis. Designed on three levels, the cabins evoke the silhouette of a bud. Ours, named "Reed," is located just steps from the lake. It thus offers an unbeatable view of the water. At its summit is a Nordic bath, as in all the Signature Spa cabins. Heated to 37 degrees Celsius and releasing woody aromas, it offers a unique moment of relaxation, facing the treetops, and always with that incredible view of the lake where swans and ducks paddle about. Custom-made from wood by the MCF workshop, located about an hour from the property, your cabin releases a delicate scent of Douglas fir as you enter through its large bay window. A large, comfortable bed, comparable to those found in traditional hotels, sits majestically in the center of the room. You'll also find all the essential amenities: a coffee machine, mini-fridge, electric heating, towels, and bathrobes. Here, sustainability is paramount. Therefore, a dry toilet has been chosen. For your shower, you'll need to visit the eco-hut. It's in this same building that you can treat yourself to a massage lasting from 30 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Fancy stretching your legs? Why not enjoy the 4-kilometer walking path around the lake? Accessible on foot, this route is also accessible by bicycle (available free of charge to cabin guests). For the more adventurous, the famous Notre-Dame-du-Haut chapel, designed by the renowned architect Le Corbusier, is about a two-hour bike ride away. For those wishing to extend their relaxation, swimming in Lake Bonnal (supervised and safe in summer) seems ideal. As for dining, the Cabanes des Grands Lacs website offers several options showcasing local produce. In keeping with the Franche-Comté region, raclette and fondue are on the menu (starting at €50 for two people). Our preference goes to the cold dinner baskets, created by the Le Maugré restaurant at Château de Bournel, which must be ordered 48 hours before your arrival. You can choose between a regional menu with a terrine flavored with fresh herbs, a healthy vegetarian menu with quinoa tabbouleh, or a gourmet menu with trout from Haute-Saône. This culinary experience can be repeated with the breakfast basket, which also features local products.

Coucoo Cabanes offers nearly 125 cabins in France, in 5 areas spread across 3 regions: Hauts-de-France, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
