Off the coast of Cannes, near Île Sainte-Marguerite, the underwater ecomuseum conceived by Jason deCaires Taylor offers a truly unique experience to be discovered directly in the water. Equipped with a mask and snorkel, visitors swim above several sculptures submerged a few meters below the surface.

The works depict immense faces inspired by the inhabitants of Cannes. Made from a material designed to respect the marine ecosystem, they also serve as a support for the development of algae and marine fauna.
The experience is more akin to an aquatic exploration than a traditional museum visit. Among fish, Mediterranean light, and statues anchored underwater, the route offers a rather surreal setting off the Lérins Islands.
The activity can easily be combined with a day in Sainte-Marguerite, including a walk under the pine trees, swimming and a visit to the royal fort.
