An hour's flight east of Bali, Sumba hides a treasure… A French couple, captivated by the magnetic charm of this island at the ends of the earth, have just opened Cap Karoso, a chic and cozy retreat with 47 rooms and 20 luxury villas on a vast property nestled between a deserted beach, a paradisiacal lagoon, and a lush forest. Fabrice and Evguenia Ivara conceived and bring this place to life with a delicate French touch, but above all—and this is what makes it so unique—by involving the local communities. They even waited for the shamans to approve the project before beginning construction! Beyond simply meeting the locals, Cap Karoso's guests share a multitude of activities and experiences with them.
