Since antiquity, the Arcadia region in the Peloponnese has been a land of myths and legends. It is there, on this mountainous peninsula in southern mainland Greece, that one of the most unusual and secluded Design Hotels has recently opened.

Perched at an altitude of 1 meters, in the middle of the forest, is a former sanatorium built at the beginning of the 200th century.e A 19th-century sanatorium for tuberculosis patients, abandoned for eighty years, has been completely restored by the architects at K-Studio, who also designed the sumptuous One&Only Aesthesis in Greece, a landmark property. Using archives and with the help of archaeologists, they recreated the space exactly as it was, respecting its neoclassical style while giving it a more contemporary aesthetic and optimal comfort. The original gray stone, wood, and mosaics now interact with terrazzo flooring, custom-made chestnut furniture, and numerous works of art, including pieces by the Greek painter Nikos Kanoglou and the French sculptor Diane Alexandre. The lighting design was entrusted to Eleftheria Deko, who created the award-winning lighting for the Acropolis.

Manna Arcadia has 32 rooms, including 6 suites, most with balconies or terraces and panoramic mountain views. Guests come here to experience a stay in harmony with nature, enjoying hiking, horseback riding, cycling, rafting, canoeing, or visiting wineries or olive mills. The wellness area is centered around a grotto-like pool, topped with a skylight. The restaurant, helmed by Greek chef Athinagoras Kostakos, showcases traditional recipes and local produce. The bar, reminiscent of a pharmacy in reference to the hotel's history, serves artisanal spirits and surprising drinks made with fresh herbs and fir honey. The delicate fragrance of this fir tree perfumes the pure air of this still wild and secluded corner of Arcadia.
