In Cannes, even the sea plays its own part. It laps gently in the background of interviews, shimmers in the reflections of Celine sunglasses, and lulls the producers in linen shorts to their broken English. But for those who know how to look, behind the overly white parasols and lukewarm rosés, there are beaches where cinema unfolds in slow motion, feet in the sand.
La Môme Beach is undoubtedly the most theatrical. Navy blue striped carpet, ivory furniture, a reinvented Riviera vibe. You order linguine with bottarga, an iced Aperol, and watch the comings and goings of press officers in wrap dresses, actors in designer sneakers, and Italian stylists in Dior Homme. The decor seems designed for Instagram, but the clientele is real: from the editors of Dazed to the new face of Saint Laurent, everyone stops by, at least once.

More relaxed, but just as sophisticated: Bijou Plage. Slightly secluded, a touch precious, it attracts those who seek refuge from the hustle and bustle without sacrificing style. The service is discreet, as are the glances exchanged. Here you'll find Japanese directors in open shirts, American agents in Thom Browne swimsuits, and a few journalists writing their reviews in the shade of the pine trees. Elegance reigns supreme, the light perfect for portraits.

The Martinez Beach Club, however, doesn't do subtlety. It's where the Croisette becomes a stage. Dense crowds, engraved glasses, a soundtrack calibrated for TikTok, and lounge chairs reserved as early as February. But there's something cinematic about this hyper-presence: a choreographed frenzy, a perfectly framed ostentation. People come to be seen, but also to see—the cinema of bodies, clothes, and attitudes.

Finally, there are the hidden beaches. The coves near Théoule, the private spots behind the luxury hotels, the yacht decks transformed into floating lounges. There, nothing is shared. Whispers are exchanged. Sunbathing takes place under vintage Panama hats. And people slip away at sunset, as if the day had never existed.
