As heavenly as the Maldives, as mythical as Zanzibar, Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony in south-east Africa, is home to some ultra-luxurious, eco-friendly resorts.
Sussurro, with its six canvas bungalows, has its feet in the sand, right on the turquoise lagoon dotted with traditional wooden dhows. The owners, Adam Humphreys and Sarah Birkett, wanted to offer their guests the privilege of privacy and immersion in the most authentic Africa possible.
As a result, all objects and decorative elements have been handcrafted by local artisans, with the exception of antiques sourced from all over East Africa. Powered by renewable energies, the hotel, which has completely banned plastic, actively supports organic farming, sustainable fishing, mangrove reforestation and the fight against poaching. As you can see, Sussurro is the wellness address that takes care of you and our environment.
