"El Pueblo Mágico" is the nickname of Todos Santos, an incredibly charming miniature village on the Pacific coast of Mexico's Baja California, with the mountains of the Sierra de La Laguna in sight. Surfers, artists, jet-setters and shamans have all set their sights on this place. It has to be said that there's a certain buena onda in the air, a unique, positive atmosphere, a relaxed vibe that gives off a serene, harmonious energy. You'll set down your bags at Villa Santa Cruz, an unusual glamping site whose tents line the ocean, before heading for the city center.

The Plaza Centro, the Iglesia Mision, the iconic Hotel California, which inspired the American band Eagles to write the song of the same name, and the Cielito Lindo market are all on offer. There are dozens of art galleries and a surprisingly sophisticated culinary scene.
Don't miss: Oystera, a refined oyster bar, Jazamango's for their wood-fired menu, or The Green Room for tasting the day's catch with your feet in the sand. For swimming, sunbathing or surfing, opt for Pescadero and Playa Los Cerritos. Locals whisper the name Playa La Pastora to the happy few. The more adventurous can take to the trails of Punta Lobos for an iodized hike rich in breathtaking views.

Finally, your getaway wouldn't be complete without a detour to the Paradero. A brutalist sanctuary designed by architects Ruben Valdez and Yashar Yektajo, this breathtaking hotel has just been voted one of the best in Mexico. Set in 5.5 hectares of sun-drenched desert dotted with yuccas, the architectural delight is transcendental. Special mention for the massage, followed by a sound bath, a delight for all the senses. A true voyage within a voyage.
