"Listen and Believe" is the motto of this brand from Kent, England, at the forefront of audio technology since 1961. KEF (Kent Engineering and Foundry), founded by former BBC engineer Raymond Cooke, has been designing and developing a wide range of products and superior listening experiences for audiophiles, music lovers, movie buffs, film and music creators and producers for over sixty years. After Tokyo and Hong Kong, the company inaugurated its new space in the heart of London last June. The KEF Music Gallery, located on Great Portland Street near Oxford Street, combines technology and design to push back the boundaries of sonic possibilities.

EXPLORATION ZONES

This third flagship, spread over 465 square meters on two floors, offers the chance to discover music and films, new artists and musicians, multiple events and new products from the brand. The space was designed by Conran and Partners, who create buildings and interiors without compromising on performance, aesthetics, attention to detail and materiality. The British studio blends stainless steel, concrete and light and dark oak to give the space an "industrial yet refined" feel.
The KEF Music Gallery in London is divided into five audiovisual experience zones. The "Gallery", located on the first floor, presents itself as an "urban oasis", hosting "le KEFé", a high-fidelity café where enthusiasts can drink and listen to classical or contemporary music. In the evenings, the venue offers live concerts, recorded sessions, film screenings, conferences and interactive experiences.
The "Studio", inspired by the anechoic chamber at KEF's R&D center in Maidstone, is an intimate space adjacent to the Gallery. This room, equipped with state-of-the-art acoustic sound, is available to musicians, artists and collaborators. Its multifunctional approach serves as a podcast studio, recording space or intimate listening area.

IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS

The other three areas immerse visitors in sound environments. The "Hub" exhibits the brand's various speaker and cabinet ranges and organizes workshops, acting as a collaborative acoustic platform. The centerpiece is a four-meter-long oak table designed by cabinetmaker Sebastian Cox, with ceiling-mounted speakers and built-in conference microphones.
The "Salon" is more like a living room, allowing visitors to comfortably explore the different soundscapes of KEF systems. As for the "Ultimate Experience Room", it showcases the performance of immersive audio processes for a truly cinematic immersion.
The KEF Music Gallery in London thus claims to be "an attractive alternative to traditional audiovisual showrooms", at the heart of a contemporary environment with a convivial spirit.
