FLOWERS OF SAINT LAWRENCE AT THE YVES SAINT LAURENT MUSEUM

Yves Saint Laurent, alongside Pierre Bergé, lived surrounded by flowers and gardens, which fueled his inspiration. This connection to nature is shared by many artists and writers. The exhibition highlights some thirty textile creations and drawings, illustrating the link between the couturier's work, the plant world, and literature. Visitors will discover iconic pieces crafted with expertise that contributed to his floral designs. Organized into four themes, the selected dresses reveal the diversity of styles, textures, and colors that Saint Laurent loved to use to represent flowers. The exhibition also features works by the American artist Sam Falls, adding another dimension to this dialogue between the arts across time.

POCKET LUXURY AT THE COGNACQ-JAY MUSEUM

These luxury objects, adorned with gold, precious stones, and mother-of-pearl, or even porcelain and translucent enamels, reflect the expertise of the greatest goldsmiths. Among them are astonishing creations, such as a miniature pistol used as a perfume atomizer or a porcelain wax case shaped like an asparagus. These objects, often referred to as "jewelry," played a key role in the social rituals of the elite, especially in the 18th century. Ernest Cognacq's collection, comprising 260 pieces, rivals those of the Louvre Museum and other major institutions. Featuring rarities and masterpieces of Enlightenment-era goldsmithing, signed by renowned artisans such as Joseph-Étienne Blerzy, Paul-Nicolas Ménière, and Johann Christian Neuber, it illustrates true refinement and great ingenuity.
