At the request of the founder of the Ichi Station takeaway sushi chain, Spanish design studio Masquespacio delivered a futuristic, pop space in Milan. With a view to developing a universe specific to the brand's dining experience, designer Yango Zhang had explored the imaginary world of travel and the railway station as an identity. An identity that Masquespacio wanted to evolve into something more conceptual, retaining its nature, but discarding the usual, overly literary aesthetics. So, a journey? Yes, but a journey into the future, through light.

"With this more futuristic look, we had the opportunity to represent the innovative sushi featured on Ichi's full-flavored and colorful menu, developed by Yango in collaboration with chef Haruo Ichikawa," comments Masquespacio creative director Ana Hernández.
In a pinkish-toned decor, similar to a real spaceship inspired by the 1990s, customers sit at illuminated glass tables, comfortably seated on banquettes, enjoying an unprecedented ambience.
A noteworthy feature of this Milanese address: the ceiling of the second part of the restaurant, in the shape of a half-sphere, gives the impression of entering a tunnel, straight into the future, via which gourmets can watch a live performance by Ichi Station's sushi chefs.
