LITTLE MISS GEISHA

A TEA ROOM OPPOSITE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDENS IN PARIS

Opposite the Luxembourg Gardens, in the 6th arrondissemente In the 16th arrondissement, treat yourself to a visit to the Little Miss Geisha tea room. This tea house, which also serves as a restaurant and cocktail bar, transports you to the Land of the Rising Sun. The place is simply cozy, minimalist, adorned with wood, fine materials, and soft lighting.

Good energy emanates from the place, flowing through every room, even the blue marble bathroom. We were welcomed with kindness and warmth. We indulged in the matcha ritual accompanied by a wagashi seasonal – a term that refers to a Japanese pastry. The tea ceremony was performed before our eyes, an experience that soothes and delights the senses…

We paired our green tea with an edamame mochi made with Uji matcha ganache, azuki bean cream with edamame beans, and raw pistachio oil. Perhaps too accustomed to more Mediterranean cuisine, we were surprised by the taste of matcha, which is unlike any other: both smooth and sweet, it blends beautifully with the taste of cocoa, which tantalizes our taste buds.

Then we shared a pastry dorayaki (which is to the Japanese what the madeleine is to the French) decorated with a snowflake made from red bean paste, cocoa, and yuzu. A delicate balance between the pleasant acidity of the citrus and the strength of the added spices. A skillful blend that perfectly complements the third cake on offer: the Paris-Kyoto, a sesame-based treat similar to a French pound cake, with its ebony color and sesame seeds.

When you bite into the cake, you're surprised by its firm texture; then, a few seconds later, the aromas unfold, bringing a broad smile to your face. For those unfamiliar with Asian cuisine, Little Miss Geisha offers a taste of signature dishes and cocktails from Japanese culture. You can also indulge in the weekend brunch and sample other specialties like flan. chawanmushi, vegetable futomaki, or even tsukemono (a typically Japanese food maceration technique), pickles accompanied by an infusion, and our famous sweet treats enjoyed during the tea ritual.

A true gem that will not leave you indifferent and will also allow you to admire the winter sunset facing one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris.
