The British Fashion Council Foundation allocates a portion of its donations to this event. The charity focuses on education, developing enriching pathways for pioneering companies in environmental impact, and supporting emerging talent. On December 1st, 15 awards were presented to artistic directors, a model, a stylist, artists, and others for their profound and positive impact on the fashion industry. 

The award for best international designer of 2025

The Designer of the Year award was given to Jonathan Anderson for his role as artistic director at Dior and JW Anderson. His fresh perspective made a significant impact in 2025 as he took the helm of the prestigious Chanel collection. A fashion house that has no trouble reinventing its collections year after year. Given the numerous collaborations between JW Anderson and his eponymous label with other players in the fashion world, it's clear the designer has become adept at understanding market demands. Each collaboration blends aesthetics and innovation with Irish heritage.

The award for best British womenswear designer of 2025

The British womenswear designer of 2025 is Sarah Burton, recognized for her meticulous work at Givenchy. Givenchy's renowned mastery of cuts and textures has been further developed since Burton joined the team in September 2024. She designs playful fashion that loses none of its femininity and elegance, thanks to its sleek and structured silhouettes.

The award for best British menswear designer of 2025

The British menswear designer of 2025 is Grace Wales Bonner. She has an artistic vision imbued with an Afro-European heritage that informs her research and menswear designs. Her innovative perspective on menswear has brought her to the doorstep of a major luxury brand, Hermès. 

The Vanguard Award

The Vanguard Prize recognizes a cutting-edge and promising British fashion designer. This year, the award goes to a woman, Dilara Findikoglu, who founded her eponymous brand around a visionary, macabre, and romantic style. 

The Model of the Year Award

The model of the year is African-American Anok Yai. During her speech, she spoke out about the ignored truths of political polarization in Africa. 

• The Pandora Award for Style of the Year was given to Sam Woolf, stylist to American singer Doechii. His enduring influence is fueled by his radical outfits, whether provocative or formal.
• The special mention recognizes Chanel's 100 years of presence in the United Kingdom.

• The Isabella Blow Prize was awarded to the trio Rei Kawakubo, Adrian Joffe and Dickon Bowden for the creation of Dover Street Market 

• The special recognition award was given to the 15th anniversary of BFC Fashion Trust

• The special recognition award was presented to Delphine Arnault, CEO of Dior, for her great contribution to the world of fashion and culture. 

• The award for excellence recognized a designer for their creative impact throughout their career. Brunello Cucinelli is the grand winner.

• The Costume Designer of the Year award was given to Kate Hawley. She notably designed the costumes for the film Frankenstein.

• The special recognition award was given to Fashion East, a talent incubator run by Lulu Kennedy and Raphaëlle Moore.

• The Cultural Innovator Award recognizes the influence of an artist outside the fashion industry who has nonetheless made a significant impact on both the industry and pop culture. Musician Little Simz was honored to receive this award.

• The posthumous award for outstanding contribution to fashion is dedicated to Melanie Ward, stylist and muse to great fashion designers. 

The ceremony highlights distinctly British fashion, supporting the UK fashion economy and ecosystem. Its work begins with young students curious about a career in fashion during their high school years and continues through university studies and the creation of businesses. This year's winners have all contributed to the growth of this major industry in terms of aesthetics, ethics, and commitment.
