Parallel stories

Presented in competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, Asghar Farhadi's new film stars Isabelle Huppert, Virginie Efira, and Pierre Niney in a psychological thriller about writing and obsession. The film tells the story of a novelist who spies on her neighbors to gather material for her next book, until the line between fiction and reality begins to blur.

Elastic Rome

Starring Marion Cotillard and Noémie Merlant, Elastic Rome is presented in the Midnight Screening. Director Bertrand Mandico offers a very loose homage to 1980s Italian cinema and the world of Cinecittà. Marion Cotillard plays an exhausted actress accompanied by her makeup artist.
