It was originally supposed to be called Dune Messiah (like the second volume of Frank Herbert's saga), but, to the disappointment of fans, the third installment of Denis Villeneuve's franchise will have a more conventional title, in keeping with the previous one. Scheduled to wrap at the end of December 2026, filming for this movie, which reunites Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Florence Pugh, began in July in complete secrecy. We do know, however, that Jason Momoa is reprising his role as Duncan Idaho from the first film (he indicated on X that he would begin filming on the 1st).er August, his 46th birthday) and that we will see his 16-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf – who is also Zoë Kravitz's half-brother – make his first film appearance as Leto II, the son of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet). A minor character, admittedly, in the novel Dune Messiah (which this third film adapts), but central to the following novel, Children of DuneAs for the cast, we also know that Anya Taylor-Joy, who appeared in the second installment, will have a more substantial role (she plays the hero's sister), and that Robert Pattinson joins the saga as the complex character of Scytale. Filming began at Origo Studios in Budapest – a popular location for Hollywood productions, where films such as... were shot. Blade Runner 2049, Alien: Romulus and the series Moon KnightThe franchise teams Dune, They are also very familiar with this studio, as the two previous films were also shot there. The production has also announced that the exterior scenes will once again be filmed in the landscapes of the Liwa oasis, in the Rub' al Khali desert in the United Arab Emirates. This desert is often used in films depicting distant planets (such as the scenes on Rey's home planet in Star Wars Episode VII), that all the Dune, Denis Villeneuve's films were shot. Therefore, there is no doubt that this third installment will, at least aesthetically, follow in the footsteps of the previous ones.

The film was initially registered under the code name "Judy." But as is often the case, its title may change upon release. For now, this film, which marks Tom Cruise's return to independent cinema after the end of the franchise... mission impossible, It remains shrouded in secrecy. We know it's a dark comedy that will be "brutal, savage, and catastrophically large," according to the few words of description the director was willing to give. Tom Cruise plays the most powerful man in the world, who must prove to everyone that he is humanity's savior before the catastrophe he caused destroys everything. A kind of Ethan Hunt, revised and improved. This is certainly intriguing, especially since Cruise has played very few purely comedic characters, if we exclude his cameos in Austin Powers in Goldmember and Tropic Thunder (proof, if any were needed, that he readily indulges in self-deprecation). Filming wrapped on May 3rd at the legendary Pinewood Studios near London, after more than six months of work, and an interruption due to an injury to John Goodman, who also stars in the film alongside, among others, Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, and Sandra Hüller (The Area of Interest), Sophie Wilde and Emma D’Arcy (Game of Thrones: House of the DragonAfter almost twenty years of blockbusters, Cruise chose Alejandro González Iñárritu for his return to cinema. artyA choice that makes sense, when you remember that it was this same director who gave Leonardo DiCaprio his long-awaited Oscar for his performance in The RevenantWill Tom Cruise, the king of the box office, follow the same path?
