Studio Akademos pays homage to the Café Society

FRANCE – PARIS

While working as interior designers for Fabrizio Casiraghi, Aurélien Raymond and Costanza Rossi decided to found Studio Akademos in 2021. The name pays homage to the free art and criticism journal of the aristocrat and poet Jacques d'Adelswärd-Fersen, which was one of the first to address
Homosexuality in the 1900s. Passionate about café society, the duo strives to revive the atmosphere of this era through their numerous projects, whether in architecture or furniture. Proof of this is their new capsule collection, featuring the Porfirio and John armchairs and the Fulco coffee table – a nod to the leading figures in art and jewelry of the 1950s. "We wanted to create versatile furniture so we could incorporate it into our various projects." This latest collection perfectly reflects their first collection, where the two Scott sofas in lacquered walnut blend luxury and sensuality.

Costanza and Aurélien used three materials—zebrano leather, lacquer, and satin-finished stainless steel—to create these three pieces of furniture. “Our stylistic universe is always rooted in a glamorous and sexy aesthetic,” the duo adds. For ecological and quality reasons, Studio Akademos is committed to working directly with Italian artisans located in Lombardy. To further their commitment to craftsmanship, the two designers called upon the expertise of the Venetian fabric house Rubelli to upholster their two graphic sofas. Available to order, Studio Akademos furniture is ready to be acquired without delay.
