THE FANTASTIC SCULPTURES OF CHRIS WOLSTON

Based in Medellín, Colombia, artist and designer Chris Wolston is holding a solo exhibition in the gardens of the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Conceived with the support of The Future Perfect gallery, this presentation includes a series of terracotta chairs that also serve as planters. Never before exhibited in Los Angeles, these chairs pay homage to the flora of the Hotel Bel-Air garden. Also inspired by Wolston's adopted home, Medellín, Colombia, this work evokes the artist's material explorations with terracotta. Combining form and function, the exhibited objects explore the country's endemic techniques and celebrate its flora.

The artist's scope of work is not limited to terracotta. Chris Wolston has also demonstrated his mastery of wicker, bronze, and aluminum, particularly in his tables.
