INVENTING A COMMON LANGUAGE
It was at architecture school that Laure Girodroux and Louis-Henri Delpy first met. From their initial collaborations blossomed a deep connection, both in life and in their professional lives. While the interior designers began by honing their skills with renowned creators known for their unique styles, they reunited in 2013 to found their own agency. Their vision: to combine their diverse skills to create a new language of contemporary design. With a freedom of expression that allows them to break the mold, they dare to explore the realm of all possibilities. Through their boundless creative palette, they challenge the delicate balance between luxury and simplicity, boldness and elegance. Far from being stuffy, their "haute couture" spirit brings to life apartments, hotels, and boutiques that are both relaxed and sophisticated. With a keen eye for detail, the duo cultivates numerous references to the decorative arts and design of the 1950s to 1980s, which they particularly admire and which they freely revisit through their resolutely contemporary lens. The result? Unique living spaces that celebrate both cultural fusion and timelessness.
A SUCCESSFUL FIRST FURNITURE COLLECTION
Subtle and deeply rooted in a quest for absolute beauty, the agency's signature style and the excellence pursued by the duo require the invaluable collaboration of exceptional craftsmen and artisans. Spearheading the promotion of French expertise, Girodroux & Delpy quickly intersected its core business with high-end artistic and artisanal disciplines. This ongoing interpenetration informs each of their bespoke interior designs! From these collaborations emerged the idea of creating a collection of furniture and artworks that would embody the values for which the studio has been renowned. Pushing the boundaries of their creativity even further, the duo partnered with the art workshops of the Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais to compose their new work: furniture intensely contemporary yet heir to ancestral techniques and finishes.
AN EXCEPTIONAL COLLABORATION WITH STUDIO TWENTY SEVEN
Like the living spaces they design, their first exclusive furniture pieces have been acclaimed worldwide. It's no coincidence that, since April, Ernest, Selene, Horace and Homer, Ulysses, and Garros have found a prominent place in the online gallery of the prestigious Studio Twenty Seven. Founded in 2018 by Nacho Polo and Robert Onuska, this leading gallery, with locations in Miami, New York, and London, is renowned for its sophisticated, luxurious, and minimalist selection of contemporary art and design pieces. Alongside these carefully curated decorative objects, the first Girodroux & Delpy furniture collection champions the elegance of French decorative arts across the Atlantic. This is exemplified by the Garros side table, designed in collaboration with the Vitry marble workshop and available in marble or solid wood. With its sculptural form and clean, graphic lines, Garros brings together the nobility of the raw, freshly shaped material and the delicate aesthetic of the tabletop's joinery.
