Currently living between China and Europe, Hua Wang was born in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. A graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martins College in London in 2012, she returned to China two years later, specifically to Jingdezhen, a city renowned for its porcelain production. After intensive training, she returned to Europe, invited by the Royal College of Art in London, to further her studies in ceramics and contemporary art. Through her work, she explores personal, political, and social themes. Part of a generation of Chinese artists who have experienced rapid growth and urbanization, her otherworldly works evoke rampant consumerism and planned obsolescence. Her poetic oeuvre was featured by Dior in last year's "As Seen By" exhibition.
