MONSTRUM STUDIO OR THE VOLUPTUOUS MINIMALISM OF RICCARDO VILLA FABBIATI

A former classical dancer, the designer delivers a body of objects from a unique universe, on the border between simplicity and exuberance.

Monstrum. The name of Riccardo Villa Fabbiati's design studio comes from Latin. It evokes a disturbing and captivating creature "endowed with characteristics that defy the natural order of things," explains the designer. Both an architect and creative director, Riccardo divides his time between Milan and Paris, where he collaborates with Rodolfo
Dordoni, Dimore Studio, but also India Mahdavi or Bureau Betak.

On both sides of the Alps, he offers pieces that are both seductive and elegant, which "offer a unique vision of the future and the divine," straddling the line between the most intense minimalism and a "voluptuous refinement." Among the flagship pieces in his catalog is the Lilith chair.

With its throne-like appearance, the seat is built around a black lacquered bamboo frame, upon which rests a cushion upholstered in polyurethane foam and covered in bull leather. A unique silhouette finished with chrome-plated gold details adorned with chains. These same golden chains are also found on Lucifuge, a ceiling light recognizable by its alabaster sphere.
