Born in 2007 from the will of Draga Obradovic and Aurel K. Basedow, Draga & Aurel is a multidisciplinary studio and workshop that operates both in the arcana of art and in the fields of collection design and furniture objects.
Drawing on their diverse experience in art, fashion and crafts, the two designers owe their renown to their combination of original methods and their artistic approach to materials and composition.

Innovators in the world of upcycling in the design sector, the duo began their journey by reinventing vintage furniture and objects in their own way and shaping the first collections "Deshabillé" and "Heritage".
It was their arrival at Milan Design Week in 2009 that marked the beginning of significant partnerships between Draga & Aurel and major companies such as Baxter and Wall&Deco, as well as Visionnaire and Gallotti & Radice. In 2019, the couple returned to the Lombard capital with a new personal project, "Transparency Matters," which explores the use and meaning of transparency in art and design. Acclaimed by the press, this new collection attracted the interest of prestigious galleries such as Rossana Orlandi and Nilufar—true institutions in the design capital—with whom important collaborations would develop in the following years.

Moreover, during the last edition of Milan Design Week, the duo presented "Color Waterfall" at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery. Like a "flooding waterfall," colors, light, and transparency take over the space. For this new project, the couple drew inspiration from the "Light Boxes" of artist and composer Brian Eno. These creations are encompassed within an immersive experience where design objects and works of art meet and complement each other once again.
