BETWEEN ART AND TECHNOLOGY
Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, is a true hub of creativity and innovation, home to a vibrant community of designers who are pushing the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship. Among these innovators are three uniquely talented designers who share a common workspace.
This collaborative environment enriches their creative processes, deeply rooted in practical exploration, allowing them to discover unexpected techniques and transform raw materials into fascinating objects. The pieces created bear witness to the harmonious alliance between material and form, guided by the unique approaches of Tim Teven, Tijs Gilde, and Paul Coenen.

TIM TEVEN (TIM TEVEN STUDIO)
TECHNICAL PRECISION MEETS EXPERIMENTAL CREATIVITY
Tim Teven's approach to design is characterized by its technical perspective, focused on materials such as steel and stainless steel. With an experimental and practical mindset, Teven uses the production process as a fundamental design tool. This method allows the creation of his objects and their function to evolve organically through continuous experimentation. His work demonstrates a profound understanding of materials and an innovative approach to fabrication, resulting in creations that are both functional and aesthetically striking. One of the key pieces in his collection is the Tube Chair, made from deformed metal. Through his extensive experimentation, the artist has been able to effectively exploit the properties of the material and those of metal deformation using precise techniques. In effect, manual and mechanical gestures interact to create an extraordinary piece.

TIJS GILDE (STUDIO GUILTY)
INTUITIVE EXPLORATION AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
The journey of designer Tijs Gilde, aka Studio Guilty, began with an impulsive and intuitive exploration of materials, driven by a deep fascination with structures, patterns, and colors. This exploratory approach opened new avenues for production and innovation, allowing Gilde to shape his unique artistic expressions. By letting his creative instincts guide him, Tijs Gilde creates functional objects with a modern and minimalist style, each piece reflecting a profound connection with the materials and techniques used. Key pieces in the artist's collection include a quartz lamp and the Hex lamp, crafted from folded aluminum sheets.

PAUL COENEN (PAUL COENEN STUDIO)
HARMONIOUS INTEGRATION OF FORM AND MANUFACTURING
Paul Coenen's conceptual approach is based on a direct exploration of materials and manufacturing techniques. His creative process is driven by the conviction that the appearance of each object should arise naturally from the selected material and the techniques employed. This philosophy leads to a harmonious union of form and fabrication, each piece being a logical extension of his creative process. Coenen's work exemplifies a perfect balance between functionality and design, highlighting the inherent beauty of well-crafted objects. His collection includes the Camber bench, which, like the stool in the same series, originated from the idea of creating a piece of furniture from a single sheet of metal. The angled seat served as the basis for the rest of the design, with each cut and fold maintaining the same five-degree angle: starting with a flat rectangle, two angled cuts are made; the first three folds are machine-made lengthwise, and then the legs are finally bent by hand to achieve the desired angle.
