Now firmly established in the design calendar, the Matter and Shape trade fair has concluded a third edition of outstanding quality. Acumen goes on to discuss the six stands that were his favorites.

“Glowtile” by RedDuo for Leucos
Venetian lighting company Leucos has partnered with RedDuo to create a striking modular lighting system based on the tile. Ideal for both walls and ceilings, this collection revolves around glazed ceramic pieces. This robust material, complemented by others such as blown glass and aluminum, results in an intriguing interplay of textures.

“Rubber & Glass” by Unknown, Untitled
In a living room arranged around a coffee table, the studio Unknown, Untitled explores a dialogue between two seemingly opposing materials: flat glass and elastomer (which can be compared to rubber). Where one is transparent, the other is opaque. The former is glossy, while the latter is matte. The latter is rigid, while the former is flexible.

“Meadows” by Bothi
This fiercely romantic, handcrafted collection was reportedly inspired by fields of flowers and trees. "Meadows" includes a solid mahogany table, handmade in Amsterdam, featuring floral inlays on its surface. As for the lighting fixture... Willow With its sculptural appearance, made of steel and cotton, it is inspired by the "discreet silhouette of willows in the landscape." The set is accompanied by a mirror and small wooden elements to hang on the wall, also adorned with floral inlays.

“Journey” by Axel Chay
The designer presented an exclusive, limited-edition, numbered collection. Entitled "Voyage," it comprises around ten pieces crafted from solid zebrano wood, a rare wood recognizable by its unique grain. This material is paired with polished stainless steel, the Marseille-based designer's signature material. The collection is further enhanced by Dedar textiles in shades of frosted brown and dusty rose, perfectly complementing this chic, geometric world infused with an ultra-pop energy.

“UFO” by Simon Dupety
Winner of the last Design Parade, Simon Dupety took advantage of Matter and Shape to present his "UFO" collection, created using oak acorns gathered in the forest. The show was also an opportunity to unveil other pieces from his collection, such as this elegant collection made in Laos. On the agenda: Tiny Flower Chair, inspired by the small seats typical of the country and adorned with stainless steel flowers, very present on Laotian balustrades and gates.

“Uprooted” by Jorge Penadés
The Madrid-based Spanish designer enjoys exploring the world of his country's olive oil industry. While Spain tends to get rid of its centuries-old olive trees with their thick roots in order to mechanize harvesting, Jorge Penadés has chosen to salvage the wood to create sculptural pieces: a wildly organic and sensual seat and desk.
