The organic works of designer Henry Baumann

Henry Baumann revealed some intriguing new design pieces on his Instagram account. One by one, multiple resin bubbles are layered to create side tables and stools with curved shapes. Let's take a closer look.

From the beginning, the designer has surprised with his unusual use of materials. He has a knack for transforming an initially ordinary object into a spectacular work of art. Working instinctively is his credo. "When I try out these materials and test them, I often start with an initial idea that fails. But this failure gives birth to something else. This process fascinates me."

An instinctive design

Positioning his art between sculpture and functional piece, Henry Baumann surprises us once again with his organic furniture. Through his "Boo" series, resembling a self-portrait, he reveals a part of himself. The German designer states: "My role is to provide the framework and current events to allow the work to find its own form and its own identity." Henry's imagination then tames his creations, which he lets speak according to his emotions of the moment. Their forms come to life as the creative process unfolds, and not the other way around.

Composed of 6 distinct bubbles, the Boo Henry Baumann's pieces are adorned with four brass feet. Sometimes unique, sometimes atypical, each creation can be customized according to the owner's wishes.

Another series by the designer greatly intrigued us: resembling the shell of a giant snail, "o.T." invites viewers who enter it to experience a journey that awakens all their senses. Composed of two entrances, the functional artwork encourages dialogue, in whatever form it takes. "o.T." then prompts viewers to suggest various ways of using it, thus collaboratively shaping the object's meaning through their interaction.

Playful and creative pieces that challenge the codes of design.
