Ella Bats, photographer and finalist in the 36th edition of the Festival de Hyères, continues to explore art and fashion in her latest editorial captured at the Hotel Le Grand Mazarin, in the historic Marais district.
Renowned for her singular approach that blends painting and matter with photography, Bats infuses her works with a unique depth, visually translating the inner worlds of the subjects she observes. Strongly influenced by René Girard's theory of desire, according to which our desires are not innate but imitated, this editorial illustrates how mimetic desire shapes our choices and aspirations. Ella Bats' work sheds light on the deep links between individual desires and social models, offering a nuanced reflection on the complexity of human nature.
